ABOUT

Mission

The American High Speed Rail Alliance is a nonprofit advocacy organization dedicated to creating and sustaining high speed rail corridors and improved passenger rail transportation in the United States.

The Alliance serves to strengthen the U.S. manufacturing industry by promoting the advancement and deployment of the technologies and services they provide while working to fill the overall need for infrastructure through advocating for a broad range of grants, loans, public private partnerships and other innovative investment strategies.  The Alliance supports the development of key corridors through media, Congressional and federal agency outreach activities.

Principles

The specific purposes for which the Alliance is organized are information dissemination, public policy awareness and information exchange, within the meaning of section 501(c)(6) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 (the “Code”) as the creation of an association of persons having some common business interest, the purpose of which is to advocate, support and champion the development and operation of high speed rail corridors and improved passenger rail transportation in the United States.

The Alliance shall promote the understanding and support of the industries involved in the creation of high speed rail corridors in the United States, and will advance the development and deployment of the technologies and services that they provide.

The Alliance is organized to encourage public support of high speed rail transportation; to improve high speed and intercity passenger rail service to the public; to gather appropriate industry statistics; to cooperate with government agencies and provide regulators and legislators with non-proprietary information pertaining to the high speed rail industry; and to keep members apprised of legislation and developments affecting the industry.

The Alliance shall advocate for the creation of high speed rail corridors and the development of related industries in the United States with the collaboration of its members, other organizations, governments, companies and coalitions.

The Alliance will provide educational opportunities, including summits, networking events and communications, in addition to developing partnerships on sustainable high speed rail transportation related issues.
